Ghanaian midfielder Alhassan Wakaso is set to make his 100th appearance in the Portuguese top flight league when Vitoria Guimaraes engage Sporting Braga on Sunday.

Wakaso, who first moved to Portugal in the 2010 season when he signed for Portimonense as a youngster before making his debut in the Primeira division a year later with the side's first team.

The 26-year-old joined Rio Ave where became a mainstay for the side, making 81 appearances in a span of four years before being loaned back to Portimonense in the 2014 season.

The Tamale-born midfielder then left Portugal as he joined French Ligue 1 outfit Lorient but departed the club after they suffered demotion to the second-tier league to sign for Vitoria Guimaraes at the start of the ongoing campaign.

Wakaso will mark his 100th appearance in the league for the Guimaraes-based outfit should he feature in the side's upcoming Minby Derby clash against Sporting Braga at the Estadio D Afonso Herniques.
