Ghanaian international midfielder Bennard Kumordzi earned his first playing minutes at Belgian side KRC Genk after recovering from injury.
The 30-year-old lanky midfielder had been out since 2014 after suffered a troubling ankle problem but returned to full scale training a fortnight ago and sat on the club's bench last weekend.
But Genk manager Peter Maes finally handed the former Dijon midfielder his first playing minutes by introducing him as an 87th minute replacement for Belgian international Yoni Buyens at the Cristal Arena as Genk recorded an emphatic 3-0 win over St Truiden.
Kumordzi played an influential for Genk two seasons ago, scoring and helping them lift the Belgian Cup title and securing two straight qualifications to the Uefa Europa League.
