Ghanaian midfielder Gershon Koffie says he battle ready as he and his club Vancouver Whitecaps are set to debut in the CONCACAF Champions League against Cascadia rivals Seattle Sounders on Wednesday.

The two sides will be meeting for the second time in four days after beating Sounders 3-0 away.

Koffie played the entire duration in the big win at the Century Link Field in Seattle, Washington.

The 23-year-old is itching to feature in the most prestigious international club competition on that continent.

“I am looking forward to it. I'm excited. We won against them couple of days ago so we know they will be coming strong and want revenge and I love games like these,” Koffie told GHANASoccernet.com.

Whitecaps qualified for the Champions League as the top-ranked Canadian side in the MLS standings last year.
