Ghanaian midfielder Godbless Asamoah has been passed fit for Nigerian side River United ahead of their CAF Confederations Cup clash against Morrocan club FUS Rabat on Friday.

The 27-year-old was substituted in the 87th minute of Rivers United’s 2-0 defeat to Tunisian side Club Africain after a clash of heads with the goalkeeper, Atef Dhkili.

The clash left him with a deep gash over his left eye-lid which required two stitches, but the Rivers United team doctor, Vincent Wachukwu, has now revealed that the Ghanaian attacker will be fit enough to travel with the team to Morocco if he’s selected in the matchday squad.

“He had a cut above the eye lid but it is not too serious,” Wachukwu told supersport.com.

“We have attended to the injury and he has already resumed training."

“If the coaches decide to travel to Rabat with him, he will be fit enough to play on Friday,” he said.

The former Medeama SC enforcer joined River United at the start of the 2016 Nigerian Football League season from Dolphins FC.
