Lloyd Sam makes the MLS Team of the Week 19.

Ghanaian midfielder Lloyd Sam has named in the MLS Week 19 Team of the Week after his dazzling performance for New York Red Bulls.

Bradley Wright-Phillips scored two of the Red Bulls' four goals but it was Sam who was truly the straw that stirred the drink.

The Englishman was dangerous all night, giving the Revs backline fits and he finished with a goal and an assist.

Compatriot Dominic Oduro made the bench by scoring a brace in Montreal Impact’s 3-1 win over Columbus Crew.

GK: Tim Melia (Sporting Kansas City) - Came up big when his team needed him, stopping a total of seven shots in SKC's win over Vancouver.

D: Matt Miazga (New York Red Bulls) - Showed yet again why he is one of the most promising young defenders MLS has seen in awhile.

D: Matt Hedges (FC Dallas) - Calm but firm, the big center back orchestrated FCD's composed, clean-sheet defensive effort. Third straight shutout, third straight win for the used-to-be-Hoops.

D: Donny Toia (Montreal Impact) - Shut down the on-fire Ethan Finlay as Montreal cruised to a 3-0 win at home against Columbus.

M: Lloyd Sam (New York Red Bulls) - Bradley Wright-Phillips scored two of the Red Bulls' four goals but it was Sam who was truly the straw that stirred the drink. The Englishman was dangerous all night, giving the Revs backline fits and he finished with a goal and an assist.

M: Vincent Nogueira (Philadelphia Union) – Second-half brace put the game away, doing well to finish after early chances in the game were missed.

M: Soni Mustivar (Sporting Kansas City) – The defensive midfielder has developed into one of the best at his position in MLS and he intercepted a record-breaking 19 passes against the Whitecaps.

M: Cristian Maidana (Philadelphia Union) – Recorded assists on all three goals; clearly the best player on the field on the night for the victorious Union.

F: Will Bruin (Houston Dynamo) – The Dancing Bear scored his eighth goal of the season as he led the Dynamo to a big win over the Earthquakes in San Jose.

F: Sebastian Giovinco (Toronto FC) - One of the Italian’s best games of an already impressive career in MLS. NYCFC bent at his will, making their defense look very substandard.

F: David Villa (New York City FC) - Scores a brace and continues to carry the expansion side as they wait for their two other stars to join up.

Coach: Jim Curtin (Philadelphia Union) - Curtin's team steamrolled a hot Portland Timbers side as Maidana and Nogueira looked like superstars for the Union.

Bench: Evan Bush (Montreal Impact), Kevin Ellis (Sporting Kansas City), Lovel Palmer (Chicago Fire), Victor Ulloa (FC Dallas), Charles Eloundou (Colorado Rapids), Dominic Oduro (Montreal Impact), Bradley Wright-Phillips (New York Red Bulls)
