Ghanaian defensive midfielder Richard Boateng endured a nightmarish outing for Extremadura in their 1-0 home defeat to UD Melilla in the Spanish lower league on Monday.

The situation has become murkier for home side who are hovering in 18th position on the league table.

The 24-year-old has come in for criticism after missing several golden opportunities in the game.

The former Granada and Aris Limassol midfielder is the junior brother of retired Ghana international Derek Boateng.
