Son of former Ghana international Stanley Aborah, Stanley Aborah Senior, was in action for Notts County on Tuesday night as they offered a moment of scare for Aston Villa in the English Capital One Cup.

Aborah, whose father earned his name with Ghana's Black Stars and Asante Kotoko in the 1990s, started the game for the Magpies who caused problems for Jordan Ayew and his Aston Villa side after holding them to a 2-2 draw in regulation time.

Villa needed extra-time goals from Scott Sinclair and Joe Bennett to sail through to the next stage of the competition.

Aborah, who has had spells at Ajax Amsterdam and Vitesse Arnhem in the Eredivisie, came close to scoring the match-winner for Notts when he fired narrowly wide before Bunn came to the rescue by turning over a ferocious drive from Stead for a corner - but Villa equalised yet again on 79 minutes.

Aborah played the entire duration of the game but Jordan Ayew who once again failed to score was replaced in the 72 minute by Czech international Libor Kozák.
