Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Abubakari has been cleared by Swedish Immigration Officials to play for Swedish Allsvenskan side Atvidaberg.

Atvidaberg risked point deduction for using a player who did not have the right of resident permit.

But after investigations, it has been revealed that Abubakari was eligible to play for the side when he joined the club in 2012.

“It has been established that he is married to an EU citizen. His wife is from Greece. Therefore, he can obtain this resident permit and we did not have to apply for anything else in the first place,” Aatvidaberg Acting President Tom Skarin told TV4 Soccer Channel.

Abubakari is one of the most experienced players in the Atvidaberg set-up after featuring for Feyenoord Rotterdam.
