Ajax Amsterdam manager Frank de Boer handed a spot in his 18-man squad to Ghanaian youngster Kenny Tete for their 3-1 victory over AZ Alkmaar in the Dutch Eredivisie on Sunday morning.
But the 18-year-old Jong Ajax regular was unused as the champions confirmed the superiority over their host at the AFAS Stadion with a convincing win.
This was the second time the youngster who can play at either wing-half roles has been called into the first team after making the squad last season in a game against ADO Den Haag at the Amsterdam Arena and will be looking for more space in the squad this season as he underwent the pre-season with the first team.
Tete was called from the Jong Ajax squad for the trip and his two other Ghanaian compatriots Leroy Owusu and Elton Acolatse both played in the Jong Ajax game as they thumped Fortuna Sittard 2-0 on Saturday.
