Ghanaian players abroad: 2-4 November

It was an action-packed weekend for Ghanaian players across the globe with some of them getting on target for their clubs. 

Strikers Abdul Majeed Waris and Asamoah Gyan scored for their clubs as well as the Ayew brothers for Olympique Marseille in the French Ligue 1.

ENGLAND

Emmanuel Frimpong played with the Arsenal U21 side as his Arsenal first team squad lost 2-1 at Man United.

In the Npower Championship Prince Buaben continued his spell outside of the Watford first team squad as they won 2-1 over Leicester City.

Jeffrey Schulpp was an unused sub by Leicester City.

Bristol City recorded their sixth straight defeat after losing 1-0 at Huddersfield Town.

Albert Adomah played the full 90 minutes and was booked on the 33rd minute mark.

ITALY

Kevin-Prince Boateng came off the bench to play 22 minutes for AC Milan who won 5-1 against Chievo Verona.

Compatriot Sulley Muntari was out of the Milan first team squad for the game.

Midfielder Isaac Cofie was an unused sub by Chievo.

Kwadwo Asamoah set up the opening goal for Juventus but they lost 3-1 against Inter Milan who had Ghanaian youngster Alfred Duncan on the bench.

Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu played 50 minutes for Udinese in their 1-1 drawn game against Bologna.

Amidu Salifu watched from the bench as his Catania side won 4-0 against Lazio.

Youngster Alhassan Moro lost his place in the Genoa team as they lost 1-0 at Siena.

In the Serie B, Mase Nana Addo Welbeck sat out of Brescia's 1-0 win over Ternana.

Masahudu Alhassan was booked in the 89th minute as his Novara side lost 1-0 against Cittadella.

Parma loanee Bright Addae was an unused sub for Crotone in their 2-1 loss at Spezia.

SPAIN

Osasuna continue to languish at the relegation zone after going down 1-0 to Real Valladolid.

Black Stars midfielder Anthony Annan was dropped from the Osasuna first team squad.

Espanyol booked their second win in five games after beating Real Socieded 1-0 at home.

Winger Wakaso Mubarak played 65 minutes for Espanyol.

Michael Essien grabbed his first Real Madrid goal in their 4-0 win over Real Zaragoza. He scored in the 89th minute.

In the Liga Nationale, Ghanaian youngster Benjamin Asamoah Akoto won a penalty for Atletico Madrid in their 3-1 win over Leganés.

Midfield sensation Paul Quaye lasted the full 90 minutes for Espanyol in their 0-0 stalemate at Sant Andreu.

FRANCE

Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah played 47 minutes and was booked in the 38th minute as his Evian TG side lost 2-0 to Lille at home.

Compatriot Rabiu Mohammed was out of the Evian team.

John Boye was a pillar in defence for Stade Rennes in their slim 1-0 win over ten-man Stade Reims.

Winger Ishmael Yartey was an unused sub by Sochaux who lost 3-1 at Valenciennes.

Andre and Jordan Ayew scored both scored for Marseille as they comfortably defeated Ajaccio 2-0.

GERMANY

Ghana-pursuit Karim Bellarabi was not in the Bayer Levekusen team that beat Fortuna Düsseldorf 2-1 with ten men.

In the Bundesliga II, American-born Joseph Claude-Gyau played the last nine minutes for St Pauli in their 2-0 win at 1860 Munich.

Meanwhile in the Liga 3, Marcel Appiah played in midfield for Arminia Belefeld who drew 2-2 at Hallescher FC.

Former AshGold striker Eric Agyemang sat on the Belefeld bench.

Striker Phil Ofosu-Aryeh played the full 90 minutes for ten-man Rot-Weiß Erfurt who lost 3-2 at Preußen Münster.

HOLLAND

Nana Akwasi Asare assisted FC Utrecht's second goal and played 76 minutes in their 5-1 drubbing of Willem II on Saturday.

Midfielder Kwame Quansah was sent off in the 76th minute as his Heracles Almelo side were humiliated 4-0 at PSV Eindhoven.

Dutch-born Ghanaian Memphis Depay was out of the PSV team.

Defender Johan Kappelhof was at the heart of defence for Groningen when they lost 2-1 to NEC.

Winger Edwin Gyasi was axed from the FC Twente 18-man squad for their 3-0 home victory over Feyenoord.

Striker Matthew Amoah watched from the bench as his Heerenveen smoothly edged PEC Zwolle.

In the Eerste Divisie, winger Elvis Manu had his marching orders in the 56th minute as his Excelsior side were demolished 6-1 by Go Ahead Eagles.

Veendam maintained their winning run by beating Oss 2-1.

Defender Mitch Apau lasted the entire duration of the game for Veendam while striker Jonathan Opoku came off the bench to play the last nine minutes of the game.

BELGIUM

Anderlecht handed KV Mechelen their second straight defeat after beating them 4-1 at their favourite Argos Oil Stadion Achter de Kazerne.

Midfielder Abdul Yakinu Iddi played the entire second half for Mechelen. Denis Odoi played the last 13 minutes for Anderlecht.

Midfielder Bernard Yao Kumordzi played 64 minutes of Racing Genk's 2-1 win at Gent.

Former Heart of Lions midfielder Abraham Kudemor was in full-time action Sporting Charleroi who lost 2-0 to Lokeren.

Cofie Bekoe came off the bench to set up the consolation goal for SK Lierse as they lost 4-1 at Kortrijk.

Makeshift left-back Rahim Ayew was sent off in the 57th minute.

In the second-tier league, striker Patrick Amoah played the entire 90 minutes for White Star Woluwé who lost 3-2 at Vise.

UNITED STATES

Former Ghana U20 midfielder Gershon Koffie saw full time action for Vancouver Whitecaps as they suffered a 2-1 loss against LA Galaxy.

Striker Charles Sapong played 80 minutes for Sporting Kansas in their 2-0 defeat at Houston Dynamo.

ISRAEL

Hapoel Tel Aviv suffered their second straight defeat after going down 2-1 to Maccabi Netanya.

Defender John Pantsil played the full 90 minutes for Hapoel Tel Aviv.

CYPRUS 

Enoch Ebo Andoh failed to make the 18-man cut in AEL Limassol's 1-1 draw against Ethnikos Achna.

Striker Chris Dickson was also out of the final squad for the game.

Carlos Ohene came off the bench to play 23 minutes for Alki who lost 3-1 against Apollon on home ground.

Asamoah Gyan scored two goals to hep Al Ain end Al Wasl's unbeaten run in the UAE Pro League with a 5-0 win on Saturday.

Striker Nathaniel Asamoah was an unused sub by Red Star Belgrade who lost 2-1 at home to Jagodina.

Defender Lee Addy was introduced in injury-time by Dalien Aerbin who finished in sixth place after win 2-1 at Hangzhou.

AUSTRIA

Defender Isaac Vorsah was not in action for Red Bull Salzburg who won 5-0 over Admira.

PORTUGAL

Christian Atsu was an unused sub by FC Porto who comprehensively defeated Maritimo 5-0.

Left-back David Addy saw full time action for Vitória Guimarães as they suffered a 3-0 to ten-man Benfica.

He was booked on the 41st minute.

William Tiero is yet to recover fully from injury and sat out of Gil, Vicente's 3-1 loss at Sporting Braga.

In the second-tier league, Alhassan Wakaso played just 23 minutes for Portimonense who won 1-0 at Tondela.

TURKEY

Defender Jerry Akaminko missed out of Eski?ehirspor's 4-0 over Gaziantepspor due to suspension.

SWITZERLAND 

Striker Kwabena Asamoa-Frimpong played the last eight minutes for FC Zurich as they posted a 4-1 win over Thun.

DENMARK

Uefa Champions League campaigners Nordsjælland leapfrogged AaB to second place after beating SonderjyskE 2-1 at their own backyard.

Midfielder Enock Adu Kofi played full throttle while youngster Kamal Issah played the last five minutes.

Defender Davidson Drobo-Ampem was a bench warmer for Esbjerg who pipped relegation-trapped Silkeborg 1-0.

UKRAINE

FC Dnipro moved to 2nd place after posting a 2-0 win over Metalist at the Dnipro Arena.

Ghana pair Samuel Inkoom and Derek Boateng watched from the stands.

Arsenal Kiev suffered a 1-0 loss at Vorskla.

Striker Dominic Adiyiah played 77 minutes while winger Abeiku Quansah sat on the Arsenal Kiev bench.

Former Ghana U20 defender Daniel Addo was out of the FC Zorya team as they drew 2-2 with Illichivets'.

NORWAY

Midfielder King Osei Gyan helped Viking to post a 2-0 win over Brann.

The former Right to Dream Academy graduate lasted the full minutes for Viking.

Stromsgodset kept themselves in the title race at the expense of Rosenborg BK by beating them in Drammen.

Ghana duo of Adam Kwarasey and Razak Nuhu played full throttle for Stromsgodset while youngster Bismark Adjei-Boateng came off the bench to play 34 minutes.

Awal Issah-Mohammed sat on the Rosenborg bench.

In the second-tier of Norwegian football, Ernest Asante continued to lead IK Start's promotion run after scoring in the 26th minute in their 3-0 win over Kongsvinger.

It was Asante's 11th goal of the season.

Striker Abdul Majeed Waris wrapped up his season with his last goal by scoring the opener for BK Hacken in their 2-1 win at GIF Sundsvall.

Youngster Nasiru Mohammed came off the bench to play 13 minutes.

Elsewhere Reuben Aryana and his GAIS side were dumped out of the Swedish top flight after losing 4-0 at Orebro.

Aryana was replaced after just 29 minutes because of injury.

Dethroned champions Helsingborg were only able to finish sixth after drawing their last match of the season at Gefle IF 2-2.

Ghanaian youngster David Accam played the last fives for Helsingborg while Zakaria Abdullai and Joackim Adukor watched the full match from the Gefle bench.

Midfielder Mohammed Abubakari saw full time action for Atvidaberg as they drew 1-1 at Elfsborg.

His countryman Emmanuel Dogbe sat on the bench.

Yussif Chibsah played the full 90 minutes for Djurgarden in their 1-0 reverse at IFK Göteborg.

AIK Stockholm posted a 2-0 win over Malmo FF to remain in fourth place.

Ibrahim Moro played the entire match for AIK while striker Kwame Karikari was introduced after 65 minutes.

Swedish-born Ghanaian Robin Quaison played 72 minutes for AIK.
