Team of the week GSN April 2016

GHANAsoccernet.com's El Akyereko picks best performing Ghanaian players abroad from the weekend.

Turkey-based Samuel Inkoom earns a berth in the Top 11 following his sterling performance for Antalyaspor Turkish while Dennis Appiah's awesome solo-goal dominated the headlines among Ghanaian goals abroad this weekend.

Here's the players who made the grades from the weekend action in a 4-4-2 formation.

GOALKEEPER: Adam Kwarasey - (Portland Timbers - USA) Kwarasey produced impressive reflexes and brilliant stops to ensure Timbers nicked a point at the Stubhub Center in California. It took the bravery of the 28-year-old to secure a point for Caleb Porter's men.

RIGHT FULL-BACK: Samuel Inkoom - (Antalyaspor - Turkey)

The former FC Basel defender was the anchor of a strong defensive cohesion for Antalyaspor as the Scorpions held Kayserispor at the Kadir Has Sehir Stadi. Inkoom was explosive in surging forward and took complete ownership of the lateral defence. Top class performance on the afternoon.

LEFT FULL-BACK: Dennis Appiah - (Caen - France) Well an awesome display from the former AS Monaco player. Appiah, 23, bossed the game at the Stade Michel d'Ornano. The 17,000 fans on attendance in the game rose to their feet to applaud the lateral defender when he picked a ball from the Caen halve of the pitch and combined an efficient pace, skill, artistry and panache - covering large acre of space to net a consolation goal for Caen. He's the most consistent outfield player in the Ligue 1 this season. 33 GAMES!

CENTRAL DEFENDER: Bright Addae - (Ascoli - Italy) Teams suffer numerical disadvantage and sometimes get their game plan turned upside down. But the presence of the strong towering center-back was enough for Ascoli to survive with a 2-1 victory over former Serie A campaigners Cagliari. The 2009 Ghana U20 defender was strong and powering in aerial combat, applying the brakes on the Brazilian danger-man Joao Pedro. He's worth his place in the squad.

CENTRAL DEFENDER: John Boye - (Sivasspor - Turkey) Top notch quality defending. Boye was the general in the Sivasspor defence as they claimed what could be a season-turning victory at Gaziantepspor. Sivasspor needed the maximum points from the game which means they needn't concede and Boye was good at keeping the hosts frontline at bay - a task he executed with high standard diligence.

MIDFIELDER: Thomas Partey - (Atletico Madrid - Spain) A great of-the-bench performance from the 22-year-old. Diego Simeone introduced Partey to revitalize his midfield he did a great work after replacing Antoine Griezmann. Building on his scoring show against Real Betis and the quality display against Barcelona, he did a commendable work as Atletico Madrid came from behind to beat Espanyol.

MIDFIELDER: Moses Odjer - (Salernitana - Italy) The 2013 Ghana U20 midfielder scored a power finish for Salernitana as they defeated Latina 3-2 in the Serie B on Saturday. The diminutive midfielder scored with a rasping 25 yarder to stun his opponent. Top drawer!

RIGHT-WINGER: Albert Adomah - (Middlesbrough - England) Adomah, rated among the best five wingers in the English Championship was phenomenal at the Riverside as he scored a masterful finish for Aitor Karanka's men, his goal separating Preston North End from the promotion hopefuls. Adomah was more dominant in the game and case close so many times that he could have scored a treble on the afternoon.

LEFT-WINGER: Andre Ayew - (Swansea City - Wales) When Francesco Guidolin decided to introduce Wayne Routledge as 67th minute replacement for Andre Ayew, the whole of the Liberty Stadium got to their feet and gave the Ghana vice captain a meritorious standing ovation. The 26-year-old tormented Chelsea on the afternoon and his name dominated the headlines as the Swans ended the Blues 17-game unbeaten run under Guus Hiddink.

FORWARD: Mahatma Otoo - (Sogndal - Norway) Beast of the attacking front! Otoo was deadly and powerful in attack for Sogndal when they posted a slim 1-0 win over Haugesund. In his moment of scoring his solitary strike for the hosts, the former Hearts of Oak latched onto a pass supplied by his countryman Gilbert Koomson and hammered home a thunderous drive from inside the box. He worked above himself to ensure the visitors had no time to think about organizing an attack.

FORWARD: Jordan Ayew - (Aston Villa - England) Harry Redknapp the former Tottenham Hotspur manager has stated Jordan Ayew would move to another Premier League club at the end of the season. For Villa have simply been dreadful and don't play with spirit. But for Jordan he has distinguished himself. On Saturday against Bournemouth Villa looked out of sort but the third son of the African football legend scored a finish Robert Lewandowski would envy. He drifted between two Bournemouth defenders before firing home from the edge of the area. Great finish!
