Ghanaian playmaker Alhassan Kalusha is training with Premier Soccer League side University of Pretoria, AfricanFootball.com has reported.

The former Tamale Utrecht Academy player is in the South African capital in an attempt to land a contract with the University side.

Kalusha, who can play as an attacking midfielder or as a striker, was recommended to AmaTuks head coach Sammy Troughton after impressing for Tura Magic in the Namibian Premier League.

"Kalusha was recommended to us I think a year ago, he is a Ghanaian that has had a season in Namibia. It is a bit difficult with the limitations obviously with foreign players," Troughton told AfricanFootball.com

"We do have Washington [Arubi], Partson [Jaure], Atusaye [Nyondo]. He has impressed us, we haven't made a final decision on him yet.

"Next week we have a game away to Bidvest Wits and I think then we can have a real good look at him."

AmaTuks kicked-off their pre-season on Monday with 15 players training on Friday morning - Thabo Mosadi watched from the sidelines, the winger is nursing an injury.
