Ghanaian starlet Eugene Ansah opened his goal account in the Belgium top-flight with a powerful low drive that propelled Lokeren to a smooth 2-0 win over KV Mechelen on Saturday evening.

The former Liberty Professionals forward, 20, stepped into the game with 12 minutes of regulation time left to play and pressure mounting on Lokeren after defender Mijat Mari? had missed a penalty and he made his presence counted for the host by cementing the victory with a powerful low drive in the 88th minute.

Mechelen's increasing pressure on Lokeren in the dying embers of the game forced manager Bob Peeters to introduce the Ghanaian attacker to bring in new energy and he made it count as he sealed the victory for them with a great finish.

Substitute Patosi forced a header into Ansah's way and the youngster showed clean feet to outpace his mark out of the contest before firing an acute low drive to the far right corner of the net.

The goal marks his first in three games for Lokeren who picked their first win of the season.
