Six-time Nigeria league kings Enyimba are closing in on the Ghanaian striker of relegated JUTH FC James Amankwei after signing two of his teammates.

Negotiations between JUTH and Enyimba have been stalled because the striker is still away in Accra on the holidays, but he is expected back this week.

“We are expecting James Amankwei from JUTH, he is Accra now but expected here this week, the talk is at an advance stage, so I am hopeful he will be here,” a top official informed MTNFootball.com.

Amankwei’s goals helped the Jos club to return to the top flight for the 2010/11 season.

Last season, he scored six goals but JUTH were promptly relegated as they finished bottom of the standings.

He is strong on the ball, packs powerful shots and he is good aerially.

Enyimba have already snapped up midfielder Uche Agbo and the club’s joint top scorer in the NPL last season, Moshood Kasali.

“As I speak to you now, two players of JUTH FC, mercurial midfielder, Uche Agbo and joint top scorer Moshood Kasali are Enyimba players now, both teams have agreed terms and the players too are satisfied with their personal terms. They are top quality players,” an official disclosed.

Other JUTH players on the move are Hassan Hussein (Dolphin), Tijani Sulaiman (Jigawa Golden Stars), while Kamoru Sikiru and first-choice goalkeeper Eze Fidelis have teamed up with Niger Tornadoes.
