Ghanaian striker Bernard Tekpetey suspended for Schalke clash against Red Bull Salzburg in Europa Cup

Ghanaian striker Bernard Tekpetey is suspended ahead of Schalke O4's UEFA Europa League clash Red Bull Salzburg on Thursday.

The youngster dd not travel with the team to Austria after being sent off in the side's win over French outfit OGC Nice at the Veltins Arena.

The club has confirmed the 19-year-old is not part of the traveling party.

 

"Bernard was disappointed to be sent off, but he will come back better for it," Schalke director of sports Christian Heidel had said after the game.

"He fought very well, especially considering it was his first game at the top level.

"We would have liked to be able to take him to Salzburg, but now we have to wait a little longer."

Tekpetey has been impressive since he got drafted to the Schalke O4 first team by manager Markus Weinzierl.
