Ghanaian striker Dominic Oduro has joined Canadian side Montreal Impact who play in the American top-flight league the Major League Soccer (MLS).

The Canadian side announced on Tuesday that the club has acquired the Ghanaian forward from Toronto FC in return for allocation money.

As per MLS policy, details of the trade were not disclosed.

Oduro, 29, has recorded 48 goals and 26 assists in nine MLS seasons, playing a total of 252 games and 14,528 minutes, including 156 starts.

“This move allows us to add quality depth to our striker position, as we identified in our plan,” explained technical director Adam Braz.

“Dominic is an experienced player who has scored in our league and adds a different profile to our attacking options.”

Oduro has played with six teams throughout his MLS career, registering his best season in 2013 with the then Columbus Crew with 13 goals and four assists in 34 starts and 2,854 minutes played.

At the international level, he’s played one game with the Ghanaian national team, in a friendly against Chile on February 29, 2012.
