Ghanaian international striker John Antwi will work under a new know manager at Egyptian side Al Ahly after the Cairo giants appointed Portuguese manager José Peseiro as new head coach.

Ahly have named the journeyed former Panathinaikos manager as their new head coach less than a week after firing Fathi Mabrouk following their CAF Confederations Cup failures.

The record-holding Champions League giants have also sacked director of football Alaa Abdel-Sadek. Abdel-Aziz Abdel-Shafy ‘Zizo’ was named interim manager, and Adli El Keiy was named new club’s spokesperson.

Antwi, a former Hearts of Oak player, will be seeking to impress the new boss when he features in Ahly's Egyptian Super Cup clash with Zamalek on October 15 in Dubai.

The 23-year-old returned to the Egyptian top-flight to sign for Ahly followed an unsuccessful spell with Saudi Pro League side Al Shabab where he netted 4 times in 11 games.
