Dutch-born Ghanaian striker Kevin Luckassen scored on his Northampton Town debut in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Bristol Rovers in League One after just two minutes on the pitch.

The 24-year-old, who had come on for Gboly Ariyibi on the hour mark, found the back of the net on 62 minutes to cancel out Kyle Bennett's opener in the 34th minute.

He rose high to head home a pin-point cross from Brendan Moloney.

Luckassen joined Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's side on Thursday on a deal until the end of the campaign.

He spent last season with Austrian side St Polten where he scored four goals in 23 appearances.

Luckassen has previously played for Ross County, Slovan Liberec and AZ Alkmaar.
