Ghanaian striker Nasiru Mohammed suffered a career-threatening injury during BK Hacken's UEFA Champions League qualifying defeat at Irish side Cork City.

The 22-year-old was horribly hacked from behind and left the pitch on a stretcher in the 45 minutes.

Compatriot Mohammed Abubakari wept as his fellow teammate was stretchered off.

Hacken lost 1-0 at the Irish side to bundle out of the UEFA Champions League qualifying round.

Coach Peter Gerhardsson was left petrified over the horrific injury.

"It looked really nasty out,"he told Sportbladet.

"There will be an x-ray when we get back home to Sweden but the good thing is that nothing seems to be broken.

"We hope he'll be well again as soon as possible."
