Ghanaians win Swedish Cup

Ghanaian trio of Nasiru Mohammed, Mohammed Abubakari and Baba Mensah won their first silverware of the season after beating giants Malmo FF on penalties to lift the Swedish Cup title on Thursday.

It was a triumph for the three players over their Ghanaian compatriot Enock Adu Kofi who was unused by the lowers of the final which was played at the Swedbank Stadion in Sweden's capital - Malmo.

Nasiru scored twice in the second-half to send the game into extra-time and eventually penalty shoot-outs which Hacken won 6-5.

Malmo took a 2-0 first-half lead through Markus Rosenberg and Magnus Eikrem but the former Ghana U17 captain - Nasiru, equalised both goals after scoring within five minutes in the second-half (61st and 66th minutes) to cancel the lead.

Both Nasiru and Abubakari started the game for Hacken but defender Baba Mensah, who joined the Yellow and Blacks from Inter Allies, was unused by the winners.

Nasiru contributed three goals in the competition to help Hacken win the title.
