Three Ghanaian players were on display at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night when Arsenal beat Udinese 1-0 in the Uefa Champions League play-off.

Arsenal, the home team, brought on midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong after 73 minutes to replace Tomas Rosicky.

The 19-year-old, who made his first appearance in the competition, enhanced his chances of first team football this season.

Udinese coach Francesco Guidolin handed starting roles to Kwadwo Asamoah and Emmanuel Agyeman-Badu.

Badu, who warmed the bench last season, distinguished himself in the holding midfield role and could be set for more game time in the Serie A and European campaigns if Udinese advance.

The duo were also making their debuts in Europe's most prestigious club competition.

Winger Thoe Walcott connected a cross from the right on four minutes to secure a win for the Gunners.

The second leg tie will be played next Wednesday at the Stadio Fruili with the aggregate winner progressing to the Group stage.
