Five Ghanaian players play at Congolese side TP Mazembe

Ghanaian trio of Yaw Frimpong, Solomon Asante and Daniel Nii Adjei inspired DR Congo side TP Mazembe to register a 2-1 win over Saint Eloi Lupopo in the Lubumbashi derby at the Stade Frédéric Kibassa Maliba on Wednesday night.

Full back Yaw Frimpong lasted the entire duration of the game as the former CAF Champions League winners fought from a goal down to steal the all-important win.

Solomon Asante was substituted with nine minutes to end the game after pulling all the strings to put his side ahead while Daniel Nii Adjei came from the dug out to play the last fifteen minutes of the game.

Mazembe were a goal down in the first half but a Solomon Asante inspired pace on the right flank gave the visitors the equaliser before fighting harder for the winner.

Yaw Frimpong who had been missing in action for quite a while was at his best as the champions tamed their opponents in the local derby.
