Ghanaian winger Ernest Asante saved the day for IK Start on Saturday when he came off the bench to score the match-winner for them in their 2-1 victory over Bodø / Glimt in the Norwegian Eliteserien.

The impressive 25-year-old had spent just over 20 minutes on the pitch but he managed to unlock the visitors defence at the Sør Arena in Kristiansand.

Asante, a former Fetteh Feyenoord player, replaced Espen Børufsen in the 68th minute and proved a handful for the Glimt defence and dully found the net winning the game for his side.

It was a share display of artistry and high-sense that fetched the goal. The nimble-footed attacker picked a loose ball in the middle, danced himself into space before brilliantly sending a low seemingly innocuous ball that beat all 4 defenders and the goalkeeper.

Excitement and merriment engulfed the entire stadium gripping the almost 5,500 fans on attendance and the technical team as they jubilated the unbelievable strike.

Though it was a gratifying fourth goal of the season for Asante, it was a strike that took Start further away from the drop zone.
