Ghanaian winger Frank Sarfo-Gyamfi cancels contract with South African club Maritzburg United

Ghanaian winger Frank Sarfo Gyamfi has terminated his contract with Maritzburg United – bringing to an end his almost three-year stay with the club.

The 20-year-old ended his stay with the Team of Choice on Friday and will now be heading ‘home’ to plan his next move.

“I have terminated my contract with Maritzburg United and I am coming back home to plan my next move,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

Gyamfi joined Maritzburg United in 2011 from Waa All Stars having impressed in the Ghana Premier League.

The ex Ghana U20 star however suffered from extensive spells on the sidelines with injury – ultimately limiting his first team opportunities at the South African club.

He came close joining Asante Kotoko last season on loan but a last minute hitch saw the deal fall through.

Gyamfi is now a free agent having severed all contractual ties with Maritzburg United – meaning he is eligible to join any club of his choice – including Asante Kotoko.
