Maritzburg United winger Frank Sarfo Gyamfi has tipped John Pantsil to explode at the club.

Pantsil, 30, has signed a two-year deal with the Team of Choice after leaving Santos at the end of last season.

The former Fulham right-back wants to seek a new challenge after Santos failed to secure promotion to the South African top-flight.

Gyamfi says his compatriot has made the right decision in choosing to sign for the club and remains positive that he will be a good addition to the squad.

“I'm very happy for him [John Paintsil] because he made the right decision. It’s good to have a senior player like him who has seen it all in our team,” Gyamfi told Goal Ghana.

“He is very jovial and I like the way he encourages and motivates young players, I have known him since I started playing in Ghana and now he has joined us with his experience.

“He will be a positive addition to the team's course this season at the Harry Gwala Stadium.”

Pantsil will join fellow countrymen Awal Mohammed and Sarfo Gyamfi at the club.
