Ghanaian youth star Gideon Jung showed off an impressive display of bravado on his German Bundesliga debut despite suffering a humiliating 5-0 battering with Hamburg SV at Bayern Munich on Friday night.

Jung, 20, was handed a big opportunity to shine in a big debut appearance in the German top-flight and he flourished in midfielder, standing out from the rest of the Hamburg SV players on the night.

The Düsseldorf-born distinguished himself on the night as he became the second Hamburg SV player to cover the most distance from the game at the Allianz Arena.

He justified manager Bruno Labbadia's confidence by producing 25 touches and completing 16 passes in the game and standing out with 7.3 rating.

Though Hamburg lost the game the young midfielder was commended for his fine show in midfield on the night and is set to hold down his starting place in the Hamburg team.

German international Thomas Müller scored twice in four minutes midway through the second half.

Mehdi Benatia and Robert Lewandowski also netted and the newcomer Douglas Costa, who also set up a goal, grabbed the fifth in the 87th minute.

JUng was born to Ghanaian parents in Germany and can play for Ghana automatically as he has not played for the German national team.
