Ghanaian youngster Ernest Agyiri was voted the Most Valuable Player in Manchester City U18’s 6-1 win over Chicago Fire in the Alkass International Cup underway in Qatar.

The 16-year-old who lasted 84 minutes was handed his cash prize of $1000 for emerging as the most outstanding player in the opening Group D win.

Agyiri is currently on a three-week attachment with the English club from Ghana’s Right to Dream Academy.

The midfielder is the younger brother of Thomas Agyiri who has already been snapped up by the youth team of the English giants.

The Alkass International Cup is an annual youth tournament which gathers the best youth teams from Europe, America and Asia.

FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, AC Milan and Manchester City are some of the notable participants in this year’s tournament.

Auxerre, FC Porto, Chicago Fire, Kashiwa Reysol, Fluminense, Aspire Qatar and Aspire International are the other teams in contention.
