15-year-old Nottingham Forest striker Arvin Appiah has been lauded by manager Jack Lester following his exceptional output in their 4-2 win over Barnsley.

Lester hailed the performance of 15-year-old Appiah, describing him as 'exceptional' after he scored twice to help Nottingham Forest's Under-23s to a 4-2 win against Barnsley at Oakwell.

The teenager played a starring role alongside striking partner Virgil Gomis and the pair tormented the Barnsley defence that included Fred Nielson - on trial from Forest .

Lester, who knows a thing or two about centre forward’s play himself was hugely impressed at the way in which Appiah came into the side, and scored twice in the space of nine second half minutes to turn the game in Forest's favour.
