England and Wales are involved in a tug of war over Exeter City youth team player of Ghanaian descent Ethan Ampadu.

The 15-year-old hit headlines after opting to play for the Wales Under-16 national side instead of England's Under-15s last year.

England want to snatch the talented teenager, whose mother hails from Wales while his father is a Ghanaian- Kwame Ampadu.

Even though Ampadu has turned down the chance to play for England at the international level in the past, it appears the European country is not backing down on their quest to lure him.

Ampadu's decision to turn down England in favour of Wales previously is not an unprecedented one.

Ryan Giggs famously opted to play for Wales after emerging through the Manchester United academy while Chelsea's Cole da Silva has also done the same.
