Ingolstadt manager Ralph Hasenhüttl could call German-born Ghanaian midfielder Reagy Ofosu into his regular side after midfielder Marvin Matip suffered a season-ending injury on Saturday.

The Cameroonian broke his shoulder during their 1-1 drawn game with Union Berlin in a Bundesliga II game at Stadion An der Alten Försterei and has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

Hasenhüttl must quickly find a replacement for the experienced 28-year-old and with the transfer window shut close, Ofosu could be usher in as a replacement by the Austrian manager.

Though Ofosu, 22, is already a first team member, he has failed to make any league appearance for Ingolstadt so far this season but could finally have his chance to showcase his talent after seemingly failing to play to his potential.

The Hamburg-born was one of the highly-rated players in German youth football during his spell with Hamburg's youth team but has overly failed to glitter at top-level football.

He is one of the few Ghanaian players plying their trades in the second-tier of German football.
