Ghanaian youth midfielder Emmanuel Appiah was handed his first team chance at Colorado Rapids when he was named in their first team squad for their clash against LA Galaxy on Wednesday night.

Appiah, 22, was signed from University of Cincinnati before the start of the season but he was loaned out to Charlotte Independence.

However the Sampa-born was recalled by the Rapids and named in their squad for their Major League Soccer clash with LA Galaxy.

But he was unused by manager Pablo Mastroeni as they nicked a point from the Galaxy who featured Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Boateng for the entire period of the game.
