Soccer fans in Ghana on Saturday expressed their satisfaction with the pairing of the national Under-17 male football team the Black Starlets against the world’s second most populous country, India in the upcoming FIFA – Under 17 tournament slated for India in October.

Marian Foba, a football analyst described the pairing as historic because this is the first time Ghana would play India in a football tournament.

According to her, the impending game scheduled for October 12 would offer the youth to demystify the speculation that Indians play football with juju as the national broadcaster, Ghana Television is expected to telecast the match live from Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.

A football enthusiastic and mobile money operator, Isaac Chapman could not hide his feelings, explaining that the draw met his expectation as this would be his first time to watch Ghana playing against India in an international football competition because there have been much rumours on Indians using juju to play football.

Others fans who expressed their views on the pairing contended that Ghana is always paired with the USA in international competitions which seems to create a kind of rivalry between the two countries.

Ghana was drawn in Group A of the FIFA Under -17 World Championship slated in India on October with the USA, India and Columbia.
