Swedish-born Ghanaian striker Patrick Amoah marked his return from injury with a strike for Fortuna Sittard as they shared the spoils with Excelsior Rotterdam in a 2-2 drawn game in the Eerste Divisie on Friday night.

The 27-year-old climbed off the bench in the 71st minute to replace Sjoerd Linssen and scored the equaliser two minutes from time to snatch a point for his side.

Sittard had fallen 2-0 behind after Jeff Stans and Jordan Botaka had scored in either halves to give them a comfortable lead but Congolese striker N'Koyi halved the deficit for Sittard before Amoah came off the subs bench to peck the scoring.

The former OH Leuven star striker raced into space to neatly connect home a Jeffrey Vlug's deep cross from the right.

The goal marks Amoah's fourth in the league this season for Sittard.

Elsewhere, striker Jonathan Opoku played the entire 90 minutes for Oss who slipped to a 2-1 loss at Willem II at the Koning Willem II Stadion.
