Uganda Cranes tactician Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic says they are trying to secure a friendly match with either Ivory Coast or Mali in a build-up game ahead of their next game in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifiers.

The Cranes top Group E after their 1-all away draw to Ghana and a 2-0 win over Guinea last week in Kampala.

“Facing either Ivory Coast or Mali will give us the best test since they play almost same kind of football like Togo whom we shall play on October 11,” Sredojevic told MTNFootball.com.

The Serbian who also helped Uganda qualify for the 2014 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) said these build-up games have helped his team a lot ahead of big games. Before facing Ghana in Kumasi, the Cranes lost 2-0 away to Niger.

“We have to keep focused ahead of the four games remaining in the Afcon qualifiers because we are the underdogs pitted against big teams in the continent,” reasoned the Coach.

He said he expects to start training later this month with the home based players before the professionals can join on October 6.
