Ghana's Agyemang Badu first to score at 2013 AFCON

Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu scored the first goal for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

The Udinese ace stretched his leg to connect home Kwadwo Asamoah's carpet cross from the left in the 40th minute in Ghana's Group B opener against DR Congo in Port Elizabeth on Sunday.

Badu has now scored two goals in three Africa Cup of Nations appearances.

His stunning strike for Ghana against Mali during the Group stage at the 2012 finals in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea was shortlisted for the FIFA Puskas Award.

The tournament's opener between South Africa and Verde and the other Group A clash Angola and Morocco failed to produce goals on Saturday.
