Ghana's Agyemang-Badu misses out on FIFA Goal of the Year award

Published on: 30 November 2012

Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has failed to make the three-man shortlist for the FIFA Goal of the Year Award.

The 21-year-old’s superb volley against  Guinea at the 2012 Nations Cup was amongst an initial shortlist of 10 for the prestigious Puskas award.

The Udinese midfielder however failed to garner enough votes to make the final shortlist for the awards that will be handed out on January 7 at the FIFA Ballon d’Or gala.

This year’s accolade will now be contested by Radamel Falcao, Neymar and Miroslav Stoch.

Agyemang-Badu is the latest Ghanaian to be left out of a final shortlist for a prestigious award following Christian Atsu's snub for the European Golden Boy Award.

The annual award was constituted in 2009 in honour of Hungarian great Ferenc Puskas.
