Ghana's Andre Ayew out of Marseille clash against Dijon

Published on: 16 March 2012

Marseille will be without their gifted forward Andre Ayew when they take on Dijon on Saturday in the French Ligue 1 because of injury.

“Coach Didier Deschamps have included 19 players for this game. Andre Ayew has been rested as he suffers from pains in his shoulder,” a statement on the club’s official website said.

The 22-year old Ghana player played an instrumental role in Marseille’s victory over Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions’ League.

The French side lost 2-1 last Tuesday at San Siro but they reached the quarters after Ayew’s winner 1-0 at home in the first leg.

His younger brother Jordan has been picked for this game and is expected to be in the starting lineup.

Marseille are struggling in the Ligue 1 as they are eighth with 39 points after 27 games.

Please Abedi Pele,be a lovely father. Kindly tell Dede to go for surgery. My heart bleeds anytime I see Dede playing since when the news of his shoulder location broke out. Ghana soccer lovers, GFA why can't you put pressure on Dede to go for surgery. We waste all our time shouting over trivial issues. I am forming "DEDE GO FOR SURGERY" movement. Concerned citizens should send their concerns to [email protected] I would get all your contributions published. Thank you.

Dede needs to get surgery he has not been himself lately he has lost some of his aggression which is normal for any athlete in pain. I just hope he doesn't let it deteriorate to a point where it could plague him throughout his career.
