Ghana's Andre Ayew out of Marseille clash against Dijon

Marseille will be without their gifted forward Andre Ayew when they take on Dijon on Saturday in the French Ligue 1 because of injury.

“Coach Didier Deschamps have included 19 players for this game. Andre Ayew has been rested as he suffers from pains in his shoulder,” a statement on the club’s official website said.

The 22-year old Ghana player played an instrumental role in Marseille’s victory over Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions’ League.

The French side lost 2-1 last Tuesday at San Siro but they reached the quarters after Ayew’s winner 1-0 at home in the first leg.

His younger brother Jordan has been picked for this game and is expected to be in the starting lineup.

Marseille are struggling in the Ligue 1 as they are eighth with 39 points after 27 games.
