Ghana's Boye banned for two matches in France

Ghana defender John Boye has been handed a two-match ban, one of which is suspended by the French League's disciplinary commission.

The Rennes centre-back was punished for an attack on Evian TG forward Zouheir Dhaoudi Savoy in a French Ligue 1 match.

The 25-year-old will serve his ban after the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations since he has in the treatment room.

Boye suffered a right thigh injury early last in the match against Troyes when he was taken off in the 64th minute.

But the club expect him to be fit before their final league match on 29 December.
