Ghana's Pantsil doubtful for next month's World Cup qualifier against Sudan

Ghana defender John Pantsil is doubtful for next month's 2014 World Cup qualifier against Sudan after being ruled out of action for six weeks.

The Black Stars host the Nile Crocodiles on 22 March in a must-win game for the Black Stars.

Doctors have ruled that he will be out of action for six weeks to be able to start training.

This means Paintsil will return to training on the 18 March, just four days before the match is played most likely in Kumasi.

With no match fitness before the squad is called the experienced right-back is unlikely to be considered for the match.

The only chance for Pantsil to be involved in the match against Sudan is if he makes a quicker-than-expected return from injury.

The right-back suffered the injury while playing in Wednesday's semi-final of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

His club Hapoel Tel Aviv will miss his services for their upcoming matches in the Israeli Premier League.
