Ghana's sports ministry yet to fulfill financial obligation to Confederation Cup campaigners Medeama

Ghana's sports ministry are yet to fulfill their financial commitment to Medeama, months after making well-documented promises to the CAF Confederation Cup campaigners.

The country's tough-talking minister Nii Lante Vanderpuije promised to ease the financial burden of the club by paying for their air tickets to DR Congo when they clashed with giants TP Mazembe two months ago.

But the ministry has since gone silence on their promise with widespread fears it could turn out to be a campaign gimmick.

Medeama president Moses Armah spent over $500,000 to ensure a smooth execution of his side's campaign in the Africa inter-club competition.

With virtually no help from any quarters, the hardworking, affable and hugely respected football owner, pulled the chest nut out of the blazing fire to single-handedly finance his side's campaign amid a difficult financial outlook in the West African nation.

The business magnate has earned massive plaudits for his commitment to football in Ghana and continues to earn rave reviews despite the side's elimination from the Confederation Cup.

Officials of the ministry have gone dead silence on their numerous promises made to the club as they wait in the wings.

Medeama failed to progress to the semi-finals after losing 1-0 at Algerian side MO Bejaia.

Despite being on the same points, the North Africans book their tickets to the last four on the head-to-head advantage.
