Ghana's U-17 steeled for Italy tourney

Ghana's Under-17 team will leave for Italy on Thursday to partake in this month's Gradisca youth tournament brimming with confidence of causing a stir.

The next batch of Black Starlets have been camping for close to a month under the tutelage of head coach Frimpong Manso.

Twenty players have been picked from an an initial list 44 for the the two-week high-profile youth tournament.

Ghana missed out on qualifying for the last Africa Under-17 Championship and the Fifa World Cup finals.

The tournament will strengthen the team's campaign for the 2011 African Championship qualifiers which begin later this year.
