Ghana's Under-17 coach Paa Kwesi Fabian has dismissed claims of age-cheating following a recent global damning report about the growing menace on the continent.

The West Africans placed second after Nigeria and Cameroon in the long winding debate about age-cheating at the juvenile level in Africa, according to recent survey by Swiss-based firm International Centre for Sports Studies (CEIS).

But the country's Under-17 trainer, who is on a nationwide scouting mission, has downplayed the content of the reports as untrue.

“I don’t think I agree with them. Well, that is their opinion and like it is said; opinions are like noses, everybody has one," he told A1 Radio

"They have expressed their opinion but I don’t agree with them, it is not true,” he said.

Ghana's was banned from participating in the  2015 U-17 Championship for age cheating.

Football's world governing body Fifa introduced MRI scans to check the ages of players at the 2009 Under-17 World Cup, which took place in Nigeria.
