Ghanaian defender Wahab Ackwei has expressed his joy after making his debut for New York Red Bulls over the weekend.

The Bulls were demolished 5-0 at the hands of Houston Dynamo in the Mobile Mini Cup at the Kino Sports Complex.

Ackwei, who joined the side on a free transfer some weeks back after ending his six-year stay with Inter Allies, was introduced in the 65th minute of the game but could not help save his side from defeat.

He took to twitter to point out his delight with his bow but lamented on the outcome of the match.

Great feeling playing my first minutes for Red Bull New York vs Houston Dynamo. Not the best result but a good experience. We go again soon 💪🏾⚽️

He scored three goals in 23 games for Inter Allies in the Ghana Premier League last term.
