Ghana’s 2014 World Cup opponents, USA have lined up a friendly match against Mexico on April 2.

The game – which is expected to re-ignite the rivalry between the two sides – will take place at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.

The game will serve as the final warm up match before coach Jurgen Klinsmann names his squad for the 2014 World Cup where they will be facing the Black Stars in the opening Group G match.

And the German tactician is keen to take a closer look at his team performs against a serious opposition before naming his squad for the World Cup finals.

“We are going to be watching our players very carefully before making final decisions on the roster for the World Cup, so this will be a great benchmark to see where they are at and how they compete against our biggest rivals,” ssaid Klinsmann.

“Games against Mexico are always special for the players and for the fans.

“We expect that it will be an amazing atmosphere in Phoenix with supporters for both teams, and it’s great to have an opportunity to play before the start of the World Cup.

“You couldn’t ask for a better experience to help with our preparations.”

The Yanks will kickstart their World Cup campaign in Brazil against Ghana - a side they have always lost to at the finals - on June 16 in Natal before taking on Portugal and Germany in the subsequent Group G matches.
