Inter Allies winger Evans Mensah made it into the Team of the Week for the third time while Godfred Saka maintained his stay in the team with Benjamin Mensah making it for the first time.

Hearts coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi is our coach of the week after a massive come back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 with the excellent substitutions he made.

Benjamin Mensah [GK] – Edubiase

Benjamin Mensah’s performance was the reason Wa All Stars could not run riot of the visitors during the game. He saved a penalty and pulled magnificent saves before getting injured in the second half. He was substituted for George Arthur who conceded the late goal.

Godfred Saka [RB] – Aduana Stars

The veteran defender carried his side on his shoulders in the clash with AshGold and secured a point in the game. Saka was very instrumental in the game with his long accurate passes and free kicks. But for the goal of Emmanuel Osei Baffour  for AshGold, Saka could have emerged the player of the match.

Gideon Mensah [LB] – WAFA

If any player made the day difficult for the instrumental Latif Blessing to feel comfortable on the field in the game at Sogakope, it was Gideon Mensah. The defensive abilities of the young man were simply superb and his attacking prowess was just apt.

Osei Agyemang [CB] – Kotoko

Asante Kotoko grabbed their first win of the season over Hasaacas at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday. Osei Agyemang rose to the occasion by pulling the breaks on experienced striker Eric Bekoe and emerged the Man of the Match.

Samuel Sarfo [CB] – Liberty

Liberty Professionals were determined to pull the breaks on WAFA at the Red Bull Arena and captain Samuel Sarfo was the chief orchestra. But Martin Antwi finally broke the deadlock for the home side. Nonetheless, Sarfo was defensively solid and organizationally apt with his charges in the game.

Saddick Alhassan [DM] – Wa All Stars

If Ghanaians have missed the midfield ingenuity of Micheal Essien, they should watch out for this young man. He was not just instrumental to Wa All Stars win over New Edubiase in Wa, he was tactically disciplined and stopped all the swift breaks of New Edubiase anytime they go on the counter.

Isaac Mensah [RM] – Hearts

Isaac Mensah fetched the first goal of Hearts which brought life back into the Phobians who fought on to overturn a 2-0 lead to win the game 3-2. Mensah popularly known as Ashiaman Messi displayed a Messi-like performance and capped it with a Messi-like strike to shoot his side to the top.

Baba Mahama [OM] – Techiman City FC

Dreams FC tasted their first defeat of the season at Techiman courtesy Baba ‘John’ Mahama’s goal. The sensational Baba individually conjured magic to make sure that his team remained formidable at home. Dreams FC did their best in the game putting on a lot of pressure but it was not enough to cancel the football president’s goal.

Musah Ibrahim [ST] – Hearts

The hero of the clash between Inter Allies and Hearts at Tema yesterday was surely Musah Ibrahim. He came from the bench to equalize and shot the visitors in the lead in less than ten minutes. Interestingly, this game is his first of the season. What a way to start a season!

Emmanuel Osei Baffour [SS] – AshGold

Emerging the player of the match in a clash between AshGold and Aduana Stars is not a fluke. Osei Baffour’s goal was able to secure a point for the Miners and ensure that they maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

Evans Mensah [LM] - Inter Allies

After winning player of the match in two previous matches, Mensah replicated a splendid performance that saw him emerge the MVP after the clash with Hearts on Sunday. He has so far established himself as an influential member of the Inter Allies team. Evans was influential in the two goals scored by Inter Allies before the Phobians staged that massive come back.
