GHPL Wrap: Aduana and Kotoko lose but Dwarfs continue winning at home
Asante Kotoko

In the match of the week, a late Vincent Atinga Penalty ended Asante Kotoko's eight years dominance over Accra Hearts Of Oaks in Accra.

Asante Kotoko lived to rue their misses in the first half of the game where they bossed their rivals into submission.

The game was fairly even in the 2nd half with the coming on of Patrick Razak for Hearts of Oaks and the injury of Awal Mohammed on the part of Kotoko.

The dying minutes of the game was a bit chaotic. The two sides threw caution to the wind. On the 84th minute was the defining moment of the game when Referee Samuel Sukah awarded Hearts a penalty. Replay showed Samuel Yeboah's shot did hit the back of Nafiu Awudu and not his hand. Samuel Sukah mistake was Hearts' gain. Vincent Atinga stood behind the ball and calmly he slotted the ball home to win the Phobia boys all 3 points.

Inter Allies defeated Tema Youth by a lone goal at the El Wan Stadium. Wahab Ackwei scored the only goal of the game in the late minute of the first half.

Earlier on Saturday, Dwarfs handed Aduana Stars their first defeat of the season.

Nicholas Gyan gave the Crabs the lead on the 27th minute, his 6th goal of the season. Osman Mohammed doubled their lead on the 38th minute.

Tanko Mohammad's strike for Aduana proved to be only a consolation after 90 minutes of football at the new Cape Coast Stadium.

Accra Great Olympics surprised many with a 1 all draw away to Medeama SC.

Douglas Opoku scored for the Wonder Club who are still winless in the league. Medeama's equaliser was courtesy Bismark Oppong.

WAFA defeated Berekum Chelsea by two unanswered goals from Emmanuel Boateng and Komlan Agbegniedan

Liberty Professionals were held to a goalless drawn game by Wa Allstars at the Dansoman Carl Reindolf Park.

Ashanti Gold lost by a lone goal to Elmina Sharks. Defender Tetteh Nortey got the game winning goal from the spot.

Bolga Allstars won by 2 goals to 1 at home to Bechem United. Two goals from Hafiz Wontah Konkoni and Maxwell Frimpong either side of Eric Opoku's equaliser was enough to secure the home side all three points.
