GHPL WRAP: All Stars with a commanding lead at the top, Hearts and Kotoko drop points
All Stars

Wa All stars and Aduana Stars got back to winning ways after the midweek draws. The Upper West club traveled all the way to Asante Bekwai to face bottom of the log club New Edubiase United in a tricky game.

Kweku Asuandzie Baffoe's header from a Richard Arthur cross was the difference between the two sides.

New Edubiase got the chance to equalize in the dying minutes but Nasir Lamin made a mess of a penalty kick awarded them.

Aduana Stars defeated Ashanti Gold to stay on Allstars' heels in the title chase.

Captain Godfred Saka opened the scores with a spot kick and Noah Martey doubled the lead all in the first half.

The result moves Aduana sole second on the log with only a point adrift of Allstars.

Accra Hearts Of Oaks made it 6 games without a win after another draw over the weekend home to Inter Allies.

The Phobia boys did actually trail for large part of the game after Ropapa Kwabena Mensah gave the away side the lead in the 39th minute.

It would've been the first away win for the Habour City boys but it wasn't going to be so as they lost their lead 7 minutes to full time when Inusah Musa headed home an Ashitey Ollenu cross.

The pressure on Sergio Traguil Daniel is not dying soon after extending his winless run to six games.

Asante Kotoko drew away at Sekondi to Hasaacas.

Samuel Afful and Amos Frimpong were the goal getters on the day. The latter's goal is his 8th of the season.

The home side needed a win badly in their quest to avoid relegation whiles Kotoko needed a win to keep up with Allstars in the title race.

Liberty Professionals played out a barren draw with WAFA at the Dansoman Carl Reindorf Park.

In Dawu, Dreams FC picked all 3 points against Techiman City. Aaron Amoah and Michael Sarpong scored for the home side and Stephen Manu got the consolation for the Real Citizens.

Earlier on Saturday Dwarfs miraculously lost 2-0 at home to relegation threatened Bechem United. Yao Abotsi and Asante Agyemang scored the two goals for the Bechem lads.
