It was a Super Wednesday in the Ghana Premier League with the four title contenders facing off. All stars welcomed Hearts to the Wa Park and Aduana were the guest of Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara stadium.
The duels lived up to the billing and the result was a true reflection of the table. There were no winners in the two games proving that the four teams are equal in strength like the table suggest.
All stars and Hearts Of Oaks shared the spoil at the Wa park. The first half ended barren. Kofi Yeboah, a 2nd half substitute broke the dead lock in the 59th minute with a solo effort. 13 minutes later, Samuel Yeboah restored parity for Hearts heading home a fine free kick.
The game would go on to end in a draw with Hearts the happier side of the two.
Though the result means the Phobia boys are without a win in 5 games, a point away at Wa is no mean feat.
With the game between Hearts and All stars ending in a stalemate, Kotoko nor Aduana could take advantage and move top of the table. The 3rd and 4th placed clubs played out a barren draw at the Baba Yara stadium.
The position of the top four clubs remain unchanged.New Edubiase United recorded a surprise away win in Takyiman.
Bismark Idan and Tawfiq Mohammed scored for the away side. Isaac Baah got Techiman City's consolation.
Bechem United defeated Medeama SC by two unanswered goals in their quest to avoid being relegated. Abednego Tetteh gave them the lead in the 42nd minute. Yaw Anorl added the 2nd late in the 2nd half via a spot kick.
Kingsley Effah's spot kick goal was all Berekum Chelsea needed to beat Sekondi Hasaacas at the Golden City Park.
Ashanti Gold defeated Liberty Professionals 2-0. Shafiu Mumuni and Emmanuel Osei Baffour (pen) were the men whose goals decided the day.
Dwarfs continued with their resurgence with a 2-2 draw away at Tema to Inter Allies.
Inter Allies had to come back twice in the game. Gockel Ahortor with a spot kick drew Inter Allies level just under 5 minutes of play after going down in 2 minutes after kick off by a Nicholas Gyan strike.
The 2nd half was the same as Inter Allies went down again by an Amoah Mensah goal only for Abdul Halik Hudu to draw them level.
The next round of games will see Inter Allies make a short trip to Accra to face Hearts in a must win game if they harbour any dream of survival.
