GHPL WRAP: WAFA record 6th consecutive win, Kotoko without a win in five
WAFA SC

WAFA defeated Bolga All stars by two unanswered goals at the Sogakofe Redbull Arena to remain on top of the league.

Bolga Allstars did set up their team to defend which they were able to do till the last minute of the first half where Caleb Amankwa managed to break the deadlock. On returning from recess, Gideon Waja put the game to bed in the 65th minute. The win has extended their winning run to 6.

On the heels of WAFA is Aduana Stars. The Dormaa based club thrashed Tema Youth 3-0 to stay a point adrift of WAFA. Noah Martey, Nathaniel Asamoah and Tanko Mohammed scored the three goals for Aduana Stars who face out of form Asante Kotoko on Wednesday at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Asante Kotoko suffered another away defeat making it 3 away defeats on a row and 5 winless games in all when you add the barren home draws with Inter Allies and Ebusua Dwarfs. The Porcupine Warriors traveled to Wa hoping to end their winless run having parted ways with Zdravko Logarusic last week. Kweku Asuandzie Baffoe scored the only goal of the game for Wa Allstars.

Abeiku Ainooson had a chance to pick a point for Kotoko with a spot kick but he failed to beat Richard Ofori in post for the Defending Champions.

At the Accra Sports Stadium, Hearts of Oaks could only pick a point against debutant Elmina Sharks. In fact, it was the debutant who took the lead through Joseph Mensah in the 59th minute only for Winful Cobbinah to draw Hearts level in the 63th minute. The point gain sends Hearts 3rd on the league table, same points and goal difference as Asante Kotoko who have dropped to 4th.

Both Inter Allies and Ebusua Dwarfs won their home game by a lone goal against  Ashanti Gold and Berekum Chelsea respectively. Prince Baffoe scored Inter Allies' goal. Dwarfs' was scored by league top scorer Nicholas Gyan, his 8th goal of the season.

Earlier on Saturday, Bechem United lost 2-0 away to Medeama SC at the T&A Park. Paul Aidoo, from a spot kick and Amos Korankye were the scorers for the Tarkwa Mauves.
